Message for May 2019:

Summer will soon be upon us which presents several opportunities for volunteering and several events to see at the post. Memorial Day remembrance will take place at 11 a.m. at the Memorial on the corner of Freistadt Road and Park Avenue, across from the Legion Post. Flag retirement and free lunch follow at the post. The fourth of July is a good source of revenue for the post. We could use all the help we can get. You could also support the post by attending. Parking is free for members. Fireworks takes place right across the road.  Everyone is welcome to participate in the Germantown parade, either marching in the color guard or riding in our Legion Post 1 wagon.  Our cabins are available to rent. For available dates, contact Paul Kasner at 414-358-0733. Without more rentals we may have to sell one of the cabins with the proceeds used to do needed repairs on the remaining cabin. As always our main source of income is Thursday night Bingo and we could use more help.  Hope to see you at our next meeting.

A Memorial Service was held at the 2nd District Conference on April 27, 2019. The following deceased Legionnaire names from March 2018 to April 2018, Post 1, were read: Darrell Brown, Clarence Fritsche, Edward Gennrich, Robert Horton, Thomas Koeppe, Roger Murphy, John Pafford, Russell Shurr, Marvin Starr, and Glenn Weiermann.
